As I look back 10-15 years, I find a lot of myself in the following video. While I believe that our heart was good, the focus became establishing this "cool relevant thing". The conferences we attended all espoused this cookie cutter approach to church. Sunday morning services were cool. We bought into the "cutting edge church liturgy".
This coming Sunday around 10 AM (or at 8:30 and 11:00) you can find a "church" near you just like portrayed in the video. Unfortunately it may be just as devoid of God as what you see in the following clip.

Every time I watch this video it strikes to the core. Few words come to mind except for Production...Show and Made Up.
Well, I thought for some time on this and came to this conclusion, " Thank you Glen for starting GCC and maybe you got off somewhere with a wrong heart but God still used you. Someone was praying for me and without invite one Sunday morning I showed up at GCC. I was mess up and confused and mostly angry. God sent me there for you people to love on a hurt and angry person to love and beleave in me. And from that here I am today!!
Also, another church...A home church was started from the roots of GCC. It was in Arizona but it was the place Katie found the love of Jesus our Lord.
So, is not our God able to use anything to his Glory. He even used an ass.... (Maybe more then just that one.) I also remember he said "nothing can separate us from His love!!
So, Thanks for doing what you did... because even if it was wrong...God saved Katie and I through your wrongness???.... (Is that even a word?) Hehe!
